A man has been charged with numerous counts of recording intimate images without consent after hidden cameras were discovered in two units at Pyrmont, NSW Police say.
On Tuesday (13 November 2018), one of ten residents of a unit on Bunn Street, Pyrmont, discovered a camera hidden in a digital alarm clock in the bathroom of the premises.
Police from Sydney City Police Area Command were contacted and attended, allegedly locating two further hidden cameras in the unit.
About 1.35pm yesterday (Friday 16 November 2018), police attended the location and arrested the 49-year-old man who manages the unit.
The man allegedly made further admissions regarding hidden cameras in another unit in the same complex.
Police executed a search warrant at that unit, locating a hidden camera, hard driver and other external devices.
Police allege the man had possession over 50 videos depicting intimate images of occupants of the two units, which had been filmed without their knowledge.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with 11 counts of record intimate images without consent.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 19 December 2018.
Inquiries continue and further charges are likely.
