Man charged over historic child sex offences, NSW

A man has been extradited from the United Kingdom in relation to multiple alleged historic child sex offences.

Detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command have been investigating the allegations over a number of years, NSW Police say.

Officers travelled to the United Kingdom last week, where they took a 72-year-old man into their custody.

tomorrow, the man was extradited to Australia.

The man has been taken to Mascot Police Station where was charged with multiple child sex offences.

The offences allegedly occurred in the 1970s and 1980s in Sydney, and all relate to one alleged victim.

He has been bail refused to appear at Waverley Local Court tomorrow.
