Police have charged a 44-year-old Dover man following two separate incidents of property damage in Hobart in the past week.
Police allege that during the early hours of Monday, 5 October, the man attended the Wrest Point Convention and Entertainment Centre at Sandy Bay and deliberately damaged glass panels throughout the complex. It is alleged that 26 glass panels in total were damaged.
Police also allege that on the evening of Saturday, 3 October, the man damaged ten windows and two glass doors at Parliament House, Hobart.
Significant repairs and replacement costs are expected in both incidents.
Following investigations, police obtained a warrant for the man's arrest.
He was located and arrested in Hobart on Tuesday, 6 October, before being taken to Hobart Police Station, where he participated in an interview with investigators from Hobart Uniform.
The man was charged with offences relating to the destruction of property and appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court.
He was granted bail, subject to a number of conditions, and is next due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 28 January, 2027.
