Man charged over unauthorised firearms, NSW

Police have seized 42 unauthorised firearms from a man in the Riverina region, NSW Police say.

As a result of ongoing investigations, about 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday 30 November 2017), police from Griffith Local Area Command attended a home on Rankins Springs Road, Beelbangera, and executed a search warrant.

During the warrant police allegedly seized 40 long arm rifles and two pistols, as well as a large number of ammunition and firearm parts.

The 60-year-old male resident was not authorised to possess these weapons.

He was conveyed to Griffith Police Station and charged with ten counts of possessing unauthorised firearms.

He was refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court today (Friday 1 December 2017).
