Man charged with break and enter in Boolaroo

A man has been arrested after police conducted a search warrant at a house in the Lake Macquarie Local Area Command this morning, NSW Police say.

Police will allege about 5.15am Sunday 16 April, 2017, a commercial property on The Esplanade at Warners Bay was broken into and an amount of cash and watches were stolen.

The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced.

About 9.30am today, police attached to the Lake Macquarie Property Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant at a house in Sixth Street, Boolaroo and seized a number of items.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Belmont Police Station. He was charged with break, enter and steal, goods in custody and custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and appeared in Newcastle Local Court today.
