A man has been charged following a string of alleged break and enters in Coffs Harbour last month.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District commenced investigations after several businesses were broken into across the Coffs Harbour CBD and North Boambee Valley between Wednesday 21 May and Tuesday 3 June 2025.
Police will allege a 38-year-old man broke into the businesses using tools to smash glass, and stole goods, cash and personal items.
About 1am this morning (Saturday 7 June 2025), officers were conducting high visibility patrols around the Coffs Harbour CBD when they located a silver sedan believed to be linked to the break and enters in a carpark on Coffs Street.
The vehicle was subsequently searched with officers allegedly seizing numerous items believed to be stolen items from the businesses including a handheld cattle prod, clothing, boxes of cigarettes and vapes.
During the search, officers also located and seized two large knives and methylamphetamine, and six mobile phones.
Police arrested the 38-year-old man at the scene before he was being taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.
He was charged with 11 offences being:
- Break and enter house etc steal value less than $60,000 (two counts)
- Agg break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed (armed) (two counts)
- Break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent (steal) (two counts)
- Break & enter intend to commit serious indictable offence
- Possess prohibited drug
- Custody of knife in public place
- Commit s114 offence, having previous conviction
- Enter dwelling with intent (steal)
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 7 June 2025).
