Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man with an alleged child grooming offences under Strike Force Trawler.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by Sex Crimes Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
Following extensive inquiries by strike force detectives, about 8am yesterday (Wednesday 5 November 2025), police executed a search warrant in Cartwright, in Sydney's south-west.
During the search, police located and seized electronic devices.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with use carriage service – groom under 16 years for sex.
He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court yesterday (Wednesday Friday 18 July 2025).
Inquiries under Strike Force Trawler continue.
