Man Charged with Child Sexual Offences, WA


A 22 year old man is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today as a result of police investigations into offences against children, WA Police say.

On 19 February 2016, West Pilbara Detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in Paraburdoo. On the same day, Child Abuse Squad Detectives executed a search warrant at another residence relating to the man in Safety Bay.

It will be alleged detectives located and seized a number of electronic storage devices during the execution of both search warrants.

Analysis of these items located in excess of 1.2 million images. Further analysis of these images seized identified the man involved in offences allegedly committed against three juvenile victims. 2,300 images and 10 videos were also identified showing depictions of children (aged from six months to 16 years) that have been classified as child exploitation material.

The 22 year old man who currently resides in Safety Bay has been charged with:-

•Sexual Penetration of a Child over 13 years and under 16 years;

•Indecent Dealing with a Child over 13 years and under 16 years;

•Indecent Recording of a Child Known to be a Lineal Relative;

•Used Optical Surveillance Device and

•Possession of Child Exploitation Material.
