Man Charged With Firearm, Drug Offenses in West Kempsey

A man will face court charged in relation to alleged drugs, weapons and firearm offences on the state's mid north coast.

About 12.10pm today (Friday 21 November 2025) officers attached Mid North Coast Police District were patrolling Eric Kennedy Street, West Kempsey.

Police stopped and spoke with a 42-year-old man where he was allegedly observed to be in possession a glock style replica pistol.

The man was arrested and upon searching the man police allegelly located a wooden-handled steak knife, a wooden shaft with metal barb, six resealable bags of heroin, and one resealable bag of methamphetamine.

He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with possess unregistered firearm pistol, custody of knife in public place, have custody of an offensive implement in a public place and two counts possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court Division 1 tomorrow (Saturday 22 November 2025.
