Man charged with firearm offences, NSW

A man has been charged after he was allegedly found in possession of firearms in Tomerong, 20kms south of Nowra yesterday, NSW Police say.

today, Detectives from Shoalhaven Local Area Command executed two search warrants at Inglewood Crescent, Tomerong and Snapper Road, Woollamia.

Following the search, a number of items were seized including firearms and ammunition.

As a result of the search warrants, a 53-year-old man was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station.

He was charged with not preventing the theft of a pistol, two counts of possession an unregistered firearm, two counts of possession ammunition without holding a permit and possessing a firearm in aggravated circumstances.

The man was bail refused to appear before Nowra Local Court tomorrow

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
