Man charged with historical sex offences against children – North Brisbane.

As part of Operation Quebec Reef, detectives from North Brisbane CIB South and the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group executed a search warrant today at a Sandgate address, Queensland Police say.

Detectives subsequently charged a 55-year-old Sandgate man with historical offences relating to four child victims, with the incidents allegedly occurring in the North Brisbane area between 1991 to 2005.

Police believe the man previously worked in the Clayfield, Virginia and Nudgee areas as a swimming and triathlon coach.

The 55-year-old man has been charged with one count of rape, twelve counts of indecent dealing with a child under the age of 16, three counts of procuring child to commit an indecent act and one count of common assault.

The man is to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon.
