Police investigating the reported approach and indecent assault of a 10-year-old girl at a Wollongong bus stop yesterday have charged a man with indecent assault, NSW Police say.
Officers from Wollongong Local Area Command were told the girl was waiting with her brother at the bus stop shortly before 7.15am yesterday, when a stranger allegedly hugged her tightly and indecently assaulted her.
The girl’s brother intervened and the man left the area.
Earlier today, police arrested a 50-year-old man at a nearby location and took him to Wollongong Police Station.
He has since been charged with indecent assault to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 19 July 2016.
