Man charged with manufacturing firearms in Lithgow

A man has been charged with manufacturing firearms after police seized parts at a home in Lithgow last week, NSW Police say.

About midday last Friday (25 August 2017), following investigations, officers from Chifley Local Area Command with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Firearm Squad, executed a search warrant at a home on Mort Street.

During the search warrant officers allegedly found and seized firearm parts and ammunition.

All items will undergo forensic examinations.

About 9.20am today, a 25-year-old man attended Lithgow Police Station where he was arrested and charged with 11 offences relating to the manufacture of firearms.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday (31 August 2017).
