Man Charged With Property, Fraud Crimes in Logan

A man has been charged with multiple property, fraud and traffic offences following an investigation by Logan Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit.

The investigation was led by the newly established Respondent Accountability Team.

The Respondent Accountability Team operates within the Logan District Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit and is responsible for proactively targeting high-risk offenders, locating people wanted on warrants, and holding offenders accountable for outstanding criminal matters.

As part of ongoing investigations, officers arrested the man at North Maclean on 28 May.

Police will allege the man committed a number of offences between November 2025 and May 2026.

Investigations indicate the offending included the theft of tools, clothing, camping equipment and other merchandise from multiple retail stores in Springfield Central and Browns Plains.

Police will further allege that on 3 May 2026, the man entered a BYD Sealion vehicle at of Yimbun Park in Sunnybank and stole a woman's bank card before using it on seven occasions at businesses within Sunnybank Plaza.

It will be alleged that on 4 May 2026, the man stole clothing and other items from a sporting goods retailer at Grand Plaza Drive in Browns Plains.

Police further allege that on 5 May 2026, the man drove while disqualified before stealing fuel from a service station on Yarrabilba Drive at Yarrabilba without making payment.

On 7 May 2026, the man allegedly stole camping equipment from an automotive retailer on Grand Plaza Drive at Browns Plains.

Police will further allege that on 10 May 2026, the man stole additional clothing and merchandise from a sporting goods retailer on Grand Plaza Drive at Browns Plains.

It will be alleged that on 21 May 2026, the man stole a Makita blower and other items from a hardware store on Grand Plaza Drive at Browns Plains.

Police further allege that on 25 May 2026, the man stole multiple items, including two chainsaws, clothing and paint from the same Browns Plains hardware store.

Following extensive investigations, on 28 May, members of the Respondent Accountability Team attended a property at North Maclean where the man was located and arrested.

A 28-year-old Yarrabilba man has been charged with nine counts of stealing, seven counts of fraud and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence and attempted fraud.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 3 July.
