Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a man performed a lewd act in Balwyn last month.
A man entered a Whitehorse Road laundrette and performed the act on Friday 21 July about 9.50am.
There was no one inside the business at the time of the incident.
Detectives have released CCTV footage and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
It is believed the man was aware of the camera as he appeared to look at the camera and smile before exposing himself.
The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late-30s to early-40s, with a thin build and poorly dyed blond/orange hair.
He was wearing a red and blue hoodie, blue jeans and fluorescent yellow runners.
