Man cut from wreckage after Port Melbourne crash

A man had to be cut from the wreckage of a car following a crash in Port Melbourne overnight.

Emergency services were called to Plummer Street, between Salmon and Graham streets, after a witness heard the crash about 1.40am.

Police believe the driver of the Ford Ranger utility crossed onto the wrong side of the road and struck a power pole.

The 37-year-old Port Melbourne man was cut from the vehicle before being transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.
