Man dead, two rescued after boat capsizes - Long Reef

A man has died and two people have been rescued after a boat capsized off Sydney's Northern Beaches this morning.

Just after 9am (Sunday 1 December 2019), emergency services were called to Long Reef off Anzac Parade, Collaroy, after reports a boat overturned and three people were thrown into the water.

Police from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended, assisted by the Marine Area Command, Surf Life Saving NSW and NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The body of a man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was found in the water.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A 33-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy were rescued from rocks nearby.

The pair are being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police have been told the older man and child were wearing life jackets at the time.
