A man has escaped serious injury after crashing his car at Ingle Farm this evening.
Just after 6.30pm on Friday, 8 March police and emergency services were called to Beovich Road near the intersection of Diranta Drive, after reports that a car had crashed into a stobie pole and rolled on to its roof, bursting into flames.
The male driver and sole occupant of the Holden sedan then ran off, only to be apprehended by an off-duty police officer who happened to be nearby.
The 33-year-old Pooraka man has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and a mental health assessment. It is expected that he will be interviewed by police later this evening.
