Man dies after assault - Eastern Creek

A man has died in hospital after an alleged assault at Eastern Creek this morning.

Emergency services were called to a home in Cable Place shortly before 1am (Sunday 11 August 2019), and found the 34-year-old man with a serious head injury.

While NSW Ambulance paramedics began CPR on the injured man, officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command arrested a man – also believed to be aged 34 – at the scene.

The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he died a short time ago; the second man continues to assist investigators at Mt Druitt Police Station.

A crime scene has been established at the home and investigations are now underway into the circumstances leading up to the alleged assault.
