Man dies after being hit by own car, NSW

A man has died after being hit by his own car on the state’s Far South Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 1pm (Thursday 20 December 2018), a 62-year-old man was driving along the Pambula Trail No 1, Lochiel, about 25km west of Merimbula, when he stopped his Mitsubishi Triton utility.

The man got out and it’s believed the Mitsubishi rolled forward, striking him before continuing down an embankment.

A member of the public found the injured man and notified emergency services.

Paramedics attended and treated the man; however, he died at the scene.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Inquiries are continuing, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
