A man has died in hospital after being struck by a car on the Central Coast on the weekend, NSW Police say.
About 11.30pm on Sunday 7 January 2018, a 23-year-old man was on the southern side of Wallarah Road, Kanwal, when he ran across the road and was struck by an eastbound van.
As a result of the impact, the man was thrown into the westbound lanes where he was assisted by passers-by.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition but later died.
The 28-year-old man driving the van was taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command have commenced investigations into the incident and are seeking witnesses.
Inquiries are continuing.
