Man dies after crash at Junee

A man has died in a car crash in the state's south west.

Shortly after 7.30am yesterday (Tuesday 14 April 2020) emergency services were called to the Olympic Highway north of Junee, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

The utility vehicle was believed to be travelling in a south westerly direction before it left the road and hit a tree.

The 72-year-old male driver – and sole occupant of the vehicle – initially presented to NSW Ambulance Paramedics with minor injuries.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital where his condition deteriorated. The man died shortly after 5.30pm.

Officers from Riverina Police District attended the crash site and established a crime scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
