A man has died following a crash in Sydney's north west.
About 3pm yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2026), emergency services were called to Lane Cove Road, Ryde, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended and found a Toyota Hilux and a Subaru Outback had collided before the Subaru left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The male driver of the Subaru was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.
While he is yet to be formally identified, the man is believed to be aged in his 60s.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Hilux – a 34-year-old man – at the scene.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
