Man dies after crash near Balranald, NSW

A man has died and another man injured following a single-vehicle crash on the Victorian border this morning, NSW Police say.

About 9.40am (Saturday 13 October 2018), emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, about 10km west of Balranald, following reports a car travelling west left the road and hit several trees.

The driver, a man believed to be aged in his 30s, died at the scene. He has not been formally identified.

The passenger, a 53-year-old man, was taken to Swan Hill Hospital, suffering minor injuries.

Officers from Barrier Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
