A man has died in hospital after an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney's north-west last weekend.
Emergency services were called to Ferndale Avenue, near Edinburgh Avenue, Carlingford, about 12.30pm last Sunday (23 August 2026), after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command attended and found a van had hit a pedestrian before the driver allegedly ran from the scene.
The pedestrian – a 34-year-old man – was trapped for some time while NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
An investigation commenced into the crash with the assistance of officers from the Crash Investigation Unit, and the alleged driver, a 29-year-old man, was charged and remains before the courts.
Police have now been told the 34-year-old man died in hospital yesterday (Thursday 27 August 2026).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
