Man Dies After House Fire - Bexley North

A man has died following a house fire in Sydney's south today.

About 12.50pm (Saturday 10 October 2026), emergency services were called to Handley Avenue, Bexley North, following reports of a fire.

Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended and found a house well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and located the body of a man – believed to be aged in his 70s – inside the house.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.

A report will be prepared or the information of the NSW Coroner.
