Man dies after incident in Corio

A man has died in hospital following an incident in Corio on Monday 20 June.

Police were called to a business on Corangamite Drive after reports of an altercation between two men around 5am.

It is alleged a nearby resident confronted a man breaking into the shop and an altercation between the two occurred.

The resident, a 31-year-old Corio man, was interviewed earlier this week by detectives from the Homicide Squad but release pending further enquires.

The other man, a 48-year-old from Norlane, was initially taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries but died on Thursday afternoon.

The investigation into the incident continues.
