Man dies after Moe assault

A 31-year-old man has died in hospital following an assault in Moe last week.

Police have been told a resident allegedly observed a man acting suspiciously outside a Mitchells Street home about 5.30am on 5 January.

A group of men then allegedly confronted the man and a serious assault occurred.

The 31-year-old Moe man was airlifted to hospital however died yesterday afternoon.

Latrobe Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the assault and have charged three men in relation to the incident.

A 41-year-old Moe man and a 19-year-old Orbost man have been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence.

A 43-year-old Moe man has been charged with recklessly cause serious injury.

All three will appear before court at a later date.

Investigations are ongoing.
