Sadly, police can confirm that a man in his 80s has died following a single vehicle crash on the Huon Highway at Dover this afternoon.
Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this difficult time.
The man was driving a station wagon in an easterly direction on the Huon Highway, when he crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided with a tree about 2.25pm.
Police are investigating the crash, although alcohol, drugs and speed do not appear to be factors at this stage.
Police are calling for witnesses to the crash, particularly anyone with dash cam footage, to come forward.
