Man dies after single-vehicle crash - Pokolbin

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash at Pokolbin today.

About 10.10am (Thursday 11 March 2021), emergency services were called to McDonalds Road at Pokolbin, following reports a Honda CRV, travelling south, had left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver, a man – believed to be aged in his 70s – died at the scene.

The front-seat passenger, a woman – also believed to be aged in her 70s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for suspected fractures; she is reportedly in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
