Man dies after truck crash at Corowa

A man has died following a crash between two trucks in the state's south yesterday.

Just before midday (Thursday 29 September 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Spring Drive and Croppers Road, Corowa, following reports of a two-truck crash.

Upon arrival, the driver of a Mitsubishi truck was located on the road. The man could not be revived and died at the scene.

While he is yet to be formally identified, the man is believed to be 47 years old.

A rigid Mack truck that was towing a trailer rolled; however, the driver – a 65-year-old man – was able to free himself.

He was taken to Corowa Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries and mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway and anyone who may have information, including dashcam footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
