Man dies after two-vehicle crash near Wagga Wagga

A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state's south this morning.

About 4.40am (Thursday 20 July 2023), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway at Tarcutta, about 45km south-east of Wagga Wagga, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from Riverina Police District found two trucks had collided.

The driver of one truck died at the scene. He has not been formally identified.

The male driver of the second truck was taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital as a precaution and for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established, with the Crash Investigation Unit investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, anyone with dashcam vision or further information is urged to come forward.
