Man Dies After Water Rescue at Coffs Harbour

A man has died in hospital after being pulled from the water at a beach near Coffs Harbour last night.

About 6.55pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 March 2026), emergency services were called to Emerald Beach following reports a man had been pulled from the water unresponsive.

A member of the public commenced CPR on the man prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The 36-year-old man was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have since been notified that the man died in hospital earlier today (Thursday 12 March 2026).

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District will prepare a report for the Coroner.
