Man Dies After Workplace Incident - Tarro

A man has died after a workplace incident in the state's north overnight.

About 11.50pm yesterday (Thursday 6 November 2025), emergency services were called to a construction site on New England Highway, Tarro, following reports of a man had been hit by a vehicle.

Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were told a male staff was standing behind a parked truck when he was allegedly hit by a material transfer vehicle, travelling towards the truck.

The man - aged 45 - died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The male driver was taken to Maitland Hospital for a mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
