Man dies following crash in Orange

A man has died following a head-on crash at Orange this morning, NSW Police say.

About 9.20am (Monday 12 November 2018), emergency services were called to the Northern Distributor, south of Ophir Road, after reports a Toyota Camry and a Man prime mover collided head-on.

The driver of the Toyota, a 71-year-old man, was freed after being trapped for some time. He was being airlifted to a Sydney hospital when his condition deteriorated and was diverted to Orange Health Service. However, he died on arrival.

The truck driver, a 27-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to Orange Health Service for mandatory testing.

Officers from Central West Police District have commenced inquiries into the crash and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
