Man dies in Reservoir

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a man in Reservoir today.

Officers were called to the Boldrewood Parade property following reports of a male threatening a woman known to him and damaging property just after 11am.

When police arrived a man from the property confronted police in an erratic and aggressive manner and refused to engage with police.

Police cordoned off the area and members of the Critical Incident Response Team attempted to negotiate with the man who, after some time, came out of the property and was arrested.

The 30-year-old man, who was to be taken to hospital for assessment, was being treated by ambulance paramedics when he became unresponsive.

He was provided immediate medical assistance however died shortly after.

A woman inside the property at the time wasn't injured.

Homicide Squad detectives will prepare a report for the coroner, which is standard procedure following a death in custody.

The investigation will be oversighted by Professional Standards Command.
