Investigators from the Tasmania Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) have charged a 26-year-old man from the state's north over the alleged online grooming of a youth.
On July 30, officers of the Tasmania JACET, comprising Tasmania Police and the Australian Federal Police, with assistance from NSW Police, acted on information concerning the alleged online grooming of children by a person living in the George Town area.

The man has been charged with using a carriage service to procure a person under 16 years of age.
Police will allege the man engaged in online communications with children with the intention of arranging meetings with them.
The man appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday,
28 October, where he was remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
