Man dies in single-vehicle crash at Armidale

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's New England region overnight

Just before 10pm (Tuesday 6 July 2021), a Honda CRV was travelling east on Mann Street. Armidale, when it lost control and left the roadway before colliding with a tree and overturning.

Local residents responded along with emergency services and the driver, an 81-year-old man, was removed from the vehicle and CPR performed

He was taken to Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, where he died shortly after.

A crime scene was established, and detective from New England Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
