Man dies in single-vehicle crash near Albury

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash near the NSW-Victoria border region today.

About 7.10pm (Wednesday 17 February 2021), emergency services were called to Burraboi Road, near Wakool, about 250km north-west of Albury, following reports a vehicle had left the road and hit a tree.

Upon arrival, officers from Murray River Police District found the driver deceased.

While the driver is yet to be formally identified, police believe the man is aged in his 50s.

A crime scene has been established and diversions around the accident site are in place while officers from Murray River Police District and specialist officers investigate the circumstances of the crash.

A report outlining the circumstances of the man's death will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
