Man dies while surfing at South Coast beach

A man has died while surfing at a beach on the South Coast this afternoon.

Emergency services responded to reports that a man had been retrieved from the water unconscious at Inyadda Beach, near Bendalong, about 5.00pm (Friday 13 November 2020).

Surfers attempted to resuscitate the man before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and commenced treatment. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

Officers attached to the South Coast Police District attended and have commenced inquiries.

The man is believed to be aged in his 60s.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
