Man found dead, girl stabbed after domestic-related incident – Chatswood

A man has died and a girl has been taken to hospital after a domestic-related incident at Chatswood this morning.

About 9.55am (Sunday 21 July 2019), emergency services were called to Nicholson Street, Chatswood, after reports a girl had been stabbed.

Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command arrived to locate a 14-year-old girl with stab wounds to her neck being assisted by a member of the public. She was treated at the scene and taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established inside a home on Nicholson Street.

A short time later, about 10am, emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, after reports of an injured man.

A 52-year-old man was located with severe injuries after it’s believed he fell from an upper level. He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Police have been told an altercation occurred between the girl and man – who are known to each other – inside a home on Nicholson Street, before she was assaulted and stabbed.

The girl alerted neighbours, and the man ran from the scene.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
