Man hospitalised after assault in Clyde

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered a serious head injury as a result of an assault in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Just after 6pm (Saturday 1 December 2018) emergency services were called to Clyde Railway Station after reports two men had been assaulted.

On arrival, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command found a 36-year-old man unconscious with a serious head injury and another man with minor head injuries.

Both men were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where the 36-year old man remains in a critical condition with a fractured skull which will require surgery.

Police established a crime scene and would like to speak to a man and a woman who may be able to help with their inquiries.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged mid to late 20s, bald, and with a beard.

The woman is described as being Caucasian in appearance, mid to late 20s, and with long brown hair.

As inquiries continue investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
