Man in court over glassing in Coogee

A man is due in court today charged over an alleged glassing at a party at Coogee yesterday, NSW Police say.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command have been told a party was being held at a home in Arden Street when a 25-year-old man was struck in the face with a bottle about 1am (Sunday 23 April 2018).

The bottle shattered on impact, causing serious cuts to the left side of the man’s face and he was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

Police were alerted and a crime scene established with several items seized for forensic examination.

About 7pm yesterday, a 24-year-old British National was arrested when he attended Maroubra Police Station.

He has now been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court later today (Monday 23 April 2018).
