Man in critical condition after hang glider crash near Mudgee

A man is in a critical condition following a hang glider crash in the state's mid-west yesterday.

Just before 1.30pm (Monday 18 November 2019), emergency services were called to Stubbo Road, Stubbo, about 40km north of Mudgee, following reports of a hang-glider crash.

A 67-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has been notified.
