Man injured, seven dogs killed in fire, NSW

A man is being treated in hospital after a house fire in Sydney’s west, in which seven puppies died, NSW Police say.

About 11.50pm (Friday 5 October 2018) emergency services were called to a house alight on Michigan Road, Seven Hills.

The male resident and sole occupant, aged in his 50s, escaped and was taken to Blacktown Hospital for minor smoke inhalation.

Seven Red Setter puppies died in the fire, with three adult dogs surviving.

A crime scene been established, which will be examined by forensic specialists.

The cause of the fire is not confirmed at this stage, however it is not thought to be suspicious.
