Man knocked unconscious during break and enter in Maroubra

An investigation is underway after one man was knocked unconscious and a group of men assaulted following a break and enter in Sydney’s Eastern Beaches, NSW Police say.

Police have been told a group of males approached a house on Benvue Street, Maroubra, about 11am yesterday (Tuesday 28 November 2017), smashing a number of windows and forcing entry into the property.

The group were confronted by four men, who were inside the home at time, before a physical altercation began and a 19-year-old man was knocked unconscious.

The three remaining residents fled the scene and were chased by the group of males who were armed with knives.

As the two groups approached a service station on Anzac Parade, Maroubra, a brawl began, before one of the groups fled the scene.

Two men, aged 20, were taken to St Vincents Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Police believe two vehicles, a blue Mitsubishi utility and a white Toyota sedan were seen leaving the scene.

Inquires are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
