Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the discovery of a man's body in Lysterfield on 5 March.
Emergency services responded following reports a male had gone missing in water off Logan Park Road.
The man, believed to have been using a paddle board, was last seen in the water by passers-by just after 2.30pm.
A search of the lake was conducted with the assistance of Air Wing, divers from Search and Rescue, Water Police and SES.
The 38-year-old Clayton man was located deceased just before 9pm.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
