Man located with gunshot wounds - Roselands

Police are investigating after a man was located with gunshot wounds in Roselands overnight.

Just after 3.30am (Sunday 14 March 2021), emergency services were called to Stoddart Street and Moorefields Road, after residents reported hearing gunshots.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and stopped a Holden Captiva on Moorefields Road, after noticing bullet holes in the driver's side of the vehicle.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for gunshot wounds to his leg and buttocks, before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, which will be examined by specialist forensic police. The vehicle will be seized to undergo further examination.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
