Man Posing As Casting Agent Charged - Lewisham

A man will face court today charged over allegedly falsifying documents and posing as a casting agent to lure young actors.

In November 2025, detectives attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Vadobal into reports a man allegedly falsified documents and posed as a casting agent for an international company, offering false TV/film opportunities in exchange for sexual activity.

Following extensive investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at a Lewisham home about 9am yesterday (Friday 30 January 2026), seizing documentation and electronic items.

The occupant, a 57-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with 11 offences – six counts of possess identification information with intention to commit, facilitate indictable offence, three counts of deal with identification information to commit, facilitate indictable offence, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm and procure child for prostitution.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division - Court 6 Local Court today (Saturday 31 January 2026).
