Man refused bail on shooting charge at Entrance

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court today charged after he allegedly shot a man in the chest at The Entrance last month.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District initiated inquiries after a 43-year-old man was shot in the chest at a home on The Entrance Road about 1am on Tuesday 28 April 2020.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital where he underwent to surgery.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2020), and taken to The Entrance Police Station where he was charged with discharge firearm intend cause grievous bodily harm and possess unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail and appeared in Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 8 May 2020), where he was again refused bail, to appear in Wyong Local Court on Tuesday 16 June 2020.
